A Rainy Alabama Wedding

From the first time I met Lauren and Randall, I could tell he adores her. Saturday I learned EVERYONE adores this couple. From friends and family who were busy bees, working to make sure everything was perfect all day long, to vendors who were sharing the refrain "I just love them! They are so sweet!" to never seeing Randall's mama with a dry eye- it was truly a day to celebrate their love and their family's love for them.

One thing I learned quickly about this couple- family is very important to them. Lauren had a sweet first look with her nephew, Max.

I know you're thinking "but where's the rain, Amanda?" It's coming, I promise.

Just as we were finishing portraits, the bottom fell out. There were probably 30 seconds between these photos and the image above.

The Ceremony

The original plan was for the ceremony to happen outdoors, but the forecast called for intermittent rain, and if you know anything about Alabama weather, it's absolutely unpredictable. The decision was made early in the day to bring the ceremony indoors and open the large door at the back of the venue to flood the room with light and allow for a beautiful view of the field beyond. The coordinator, Shannon, made it happen smoothly, and it was absolutely beautiful. After the family formal photos at the altar, we slipped out for some final bride and groom portraits in the sunset light while they flipped the room for the reception.

Randall and Lauren's ceremony centered on their love for Christ, Randall's strong leadership, and Lauren's heart for service.

Lauren and Randall, thank you for allowing me to celebrate with you and be a small part of such a beautiful day, and thank you to all of the vendors who made it happen!
